Update Procedure

1. Update Preparation

The IP-Control must be in the same network as the PC which is running the UpdateTool. Updates via internet are impossible!
Create a backup of your IP-Control project. During the update all data in the IP-Control will be deleted and it starts with default settings.
The IP Adress 192.168.1.10 must be free. After the update, IP-Control starts with the default IP 192.168.1.10 and HTTP port 80.

2. Starting the rescue system

In order to install a new firmware, the IP-Control must start the rescue system. Choose your IP-Control in the discovery list and fill in the SSH string as well as the admin password. Click on "Start IP-Control rescue system".

Depending on the current installed firmware, the reboot process takes up to 5 minutes.

3. Installing the new firmware

The IP-Control will show up with an

icon. The IP-Control is in the rescue system now and is ready to update it's firmware. If you select this device, the update mask will be displayed on the right side. Please choose the new firmware file and click on "Start IP-Control Update".
The firmware will now be uploaded into the IP-Control. After this, the IP-Control validates the package and installs the new firmware. The whole procedure takes about 10 minutes. Please don't power off the IP-Control during this time.

After the update has been installed successful, the IP-Control will show up in the discovery list with it's default settings as "*unknown* (BT0xxxxxxxxx)".

4. Finishing the update

The IP-Control should be available with the default IP address 192.168.1.10 and port 80. You can start the browser and enter the ConfigTool to change the IP address and restore your project backup.

LED Codes

During the update, the IP-Control LEDs show the current status. The upper LED (power) is orange while the lowest one displays network traffic (blinking green / orange). The other three LEDs are blinking depending on the current status.

Device is booting
	The device is booting, this can take between 2 and 5 minutes depending on the installed firmware version.
Rescue System
	The IP-Control is in the rescue system and is waiting for a new firmware image. If no firmware gets uploaded for 10 minutes, the device starts the original firmware.
Validating firmware package
	The IP-Control validates the uploaded firmware. This can take up to 5 minutes. Please don't power off the IP-Control during this phase!
Installing the firmware
	IP-Control is now extracting and installing the firmware. This can take up to 5 minutes. Please don't power off the IP-Control during this phase!
